2016badge-watermelon

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for March 2016. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our new 2016 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month we are featuring Spring and Spring related projects. We hope you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

DSC_0695 Dutch Door Chick

This darling chick has just hatched and is showing off his beautiful egg.  The egg is done in Daffodil Delight, Blushing Bride, and Mint Macaron for the flowers. As for this cute chick, it  is colored with the blender pen in the Daffodil Delight.  What makes this card unique is that it is a Dutch Door card.  This was part of my Card Fold Video on March 4th.  I think we get stuck in making the same kind of fold card.  The lower fold part of the card has Happy Easter stamped inside.

Thanks for visiting. To continue with the hop, please refer to the Blog Hop Line-up below. We hope to see you on next month’s Pals Blog Hop!

Look Who Is Popping in to Say a Special Hi to You!

DSC_0689 Rabbits and FenceToday the rabbits have my vote.   After all isn’t that what Spring is about!  These guys are hanging out to just say hi.  I think they are cute!  What do you think?  The fence came from the hardwood stamp set with Soft Suede ink.  To cut the fence you need to watch WOW Wednesday this week.  However, WOW Wednesday will not be Wednesday this week because of the Blog Hop.  I will post it on Thursday.  I know you will want to check out all the great designs of fellow stampers have created. This will give you a chance to focus on their creations.

Take a special notice the different punches and how you can adapt a flower punch or a tree punch for making the rabbits.  I think it is exciting to use punches that are not designed for that particular punch.  So maybe you need to take second look at your punches and think how you could use them differently.  Feel free to post it on my Facebook page.  https://www.facebook.com/stampinpinkrose  Remember this is how we learn as stampers by sharing.

Additional note,  I might have added to the right of the rabbit (top) Happy Easter or Hello Spring.

Trust In Yourself and Share

DSC_0694 Mar 6th

Before I bring you today’s card idea,  I want to share something with you.  Several of us stampers were discussing sharing our designs and why people are reluctant to do so.  The standard comment is that “my work is not that good.”   That is nonsense everyone is at a different level so their work will be different.  Our visions are different.  So this why I want to share my journey.  Recently, I was trying to make more space in my studio. Sound familiar? I didn’t like what I found in  my original cards. Anyway it started over 10 years ago with a thing called Circut.  I liked the cutting, but something was missing — the ink.  Along came Stampin’ Up! with its fabulous ink and coordinating paper. I stilled liked my Cricut because I could get 3 D effect.  Stampin’ Up! was in its beginnings of adding framelits and thinlits which gives the 3 D effect.  Now that has all changed—-my Cricut sits in a corner of my room and seldom gets used.  Stampin’ Up! is my faithful partner.  We all change evolve grow as we practice our craft.  So don’t fret, enjoy your hobby and share it.

Each Monday I will be giving you a challenge with a technique/tool to use in your project.   I want you to take a picture of your work and post on my Facebook.    https://www.facebook.com/stampinpinkrose   No one  is going to criticize your work.  After all, stamping is about sharing. So here is your words for the week —– masking and sponge dauber.  An example is a post note with a  circle punched out to give the sun and colored with your sponge dauber.  You will see an example on my Dutch Door Video and that card will make an appearance on Wednesday’s blog hop.

Today I wanted to do something with Stampin’ Up! Botanical Gardens stamp set.   March 6th would have been my mother’s 98th birthday.  Her favorite colors were the purples and navy blue.  Hence, I thought I would move away from my colors (various  shades of pinks) to purples.  So in honor of mother here comes a birthday card with Botanical Gardens.  I love the birthday greeting on Rose Wonder. So I chose to use it.

Now go and create then share.
