Stampin” Up! Knows How to Celebrate Birthdays! Come Celebrate with Me!

Welcome to another week of stampin with me.   Did you notice I put out another card on Sunday?  This was part of the card challenge.  You can checkout all the great ideas by clicking here.  http://www.global-design-project.com/

Today is part of the many stamps that Stampin’ Up! offers to celebrate birthdays. I chose to continue with one of the stamps that is retiring —— Cupcake Party. This is another nice change from using the birthday cake.

DSC_0091 Cupcake Party

Base:   The card is started with Pool Party cardstock. This color is used in the card circles.  The white cardstock is stamped first and then embossed.

Focus:  The cupcake is the focus and the circles are a great accent.  As part of  WOW Wednesday I will explain how to do the circles which are very simple.  I love how the colorful circles draw us into the card. Just think how plain it would be with just the cupcake. The embossed paper adds texture.  These are important elements to the cards —– color and texture.

Tips

Stamp Set:   Cupcake Party, Create a Cupcake (words) retired

Color Combination:  Chocolate Chip, Pool Party, Calypso Coral

Ink:   Pool Party, Chocolate Chip. Calypso Coral

Celebrate It by the Numbers for Someone Special

I have a friend’s grandson turning five.  So I thought numbers with balloons would be a great birthday card.  It seems to have so much fun with counting.  Maybe Math will be his thing.

Stampin' Up! CAS birthday card made with Number of Years. Designed by demo Pamela Sadler. See more cards at stampinpinkrose.com #stampinpinkrose

Base:  Is the orange cardstock with the Whisper White paper which becomes your Focal Point.

Focal Point:  The focal point is two fold because of the numbers cut out and what is under the numbers —– colorful paper.  I had some colorful paper sitting on my table and thought this was a good use of it.  What do you think? Then add those colorful balloons to make it a true birthday card.
