New Week! New Ideas with Tool of the Week

I have decided to continue last week’s Tool of the Week.  Stampin’ Up! has so many great framelits/thinlit that I feel we have only scratched the surface. So I hope I am not boring you with this tool, but I feel we have so many cards that we can make  stand out.

I chose for today to use Botanical Blooms with Lots of Labels.  Using the framelit Lots of Labels can really frame your object such as flowers.  Anyone can be an expert making these flowers with your Botanical Builders Framelit Dies.  It is has simple as running it through your Big Shot.  You can use your sponge dauber where you choose such as on the leaves which is what I did.  I have to tell you this is one of my most favorite flowers to do.  The size is perfect and easy plus the many ways to use them in your designs.

Tips

Stamp Set:  Botanical Blooms, Perfect Pairings

Look at all the different stamps in this set. You have flowers and leaves and some accents to use.

Color Combinations:

Rather than use a yellow shade for the center I opted for a another pink shade which was Rose Red.  I  think this color is more pink than red so it  shows off the center better. What is your favorite color combination?  You can put it in the comment section below. I think that playing around with the different colors Stampin’ Up! offers is half the fun.  It can be surprising when a color works that we don’t expect.

Paper:  Whisper White, Blushing Bride, Wild Wasabi

Embellishment:   Pearl Basic Jewels, Dimensionals

Sometimes I use rhinestones and other times I use pearls. Stampin’ Up! provides us different sizes. I think pearls add a certain elegance to the cards.  In this case the flower’s center.

Ink: Wild Wasabi

Sometimes I don’t want to break and introduce another color such as black for the words. I would rather keep everything simple by using the colors introduced. The question you always need to ask can they see it?  Sometimes a color is too fade.

Accessories: Botanical Builders Framelit Dies, Lots of Labels Framelits, Honeycomb,  Big Shot, Sponge Dauber

Using the framelit  makes our lives of creating so easy.  It is matter of choosing our wonderful selection of cardstock.

Don’t forget that the Stampin’ Up! Retirement List will be out tomorrow and I will discuss it further in the newsletter. So make sure you are signed up for it. Card Fold Friday Takes Us to Nature

DSC_0051 Telescope Card

For this Card Fold Friday we are going back to nature.  The geese are returning as a sure sign of spring.  So I thought it would be fitting to do a nature card plus I am participating in challenge that has a nature theme. This card design is called a telescope card and uses our Tool of the Week.  So dig out your Square Framelit and lets get started. The stamp set I am using is Wetlands and it is one of my favorite stamp sets. So I am hoping it is not retiring out.  That list will be out April 18th.  So make sure you subscribe to my newsletters for all the news including the Stampin’ Up! Retirement List.

Now that you have seen how to do this think about using circles or ovals.  Then go find a stamp set maybe flowers like Rose Wonder. Start Experimenting.  Remember you use the three smallest of the framelits.

Tips

Stamp:  Crazy About You

Color Combination:  Wild Wasabi, Blushing Bride

I love the Wild Wasabi and Blushing Bride.  The Wild Wasabi is a rich color because it is not too pale or too deep then place with Blushing Bride to give the delicate look.  To me this is what spring a breathe of fresh air as we stumble out of the dreariness of winter.

Embellishment: Wink of Stella

Ink: Blushing Bride, Archival Black

Paper:  Blushing Bride, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White

Accessories: Floral Frames, Big Shot, Sponge Daubers

Special Note:  You are using all the layers of Floral Frames except for the largest  for the flower and alternate colors.  The green is the next to largest with part of the frame cut to make the leave. The third framelit is daubed with the Blushing Bride ink around the edge.
