Card Fold Friday Takes Us to Nature

DSC_0051 Telescope Card

For this Card Fold Friday we are going back to nature.  The geese are returning as a sure sign of spring.  So I thought it would be fitting to do a nature card plus I am participating in challenge that has a nature theme. This card design is called a telescope card and uses our Tool of the Week.  So dig out your Square Framelit and lets get started. The stamp set I am using is Wetlands and it is one of my favorite stamp sets. So I am hoping it is not retiring out.  That list will be out April 18th.  So make sure you subscribe to my newsletters for all the news including the Stampin’ Up! Retirement List.

Now that you have seen how to do this think about using circles or ovals.  Then go find a stamp set maybe flowers like Rose Wonder. Start Experimenting.  Remember you use the three smallest of the framelits.

WOW Wednesday – Expanding Use of Your Framelit

I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s Bog Hop and all the great ideas.  So WOW Wednesday is a day later because of the hop, but well worth it.  This WOW Wednesday is about expanding your use of some of your framelits.  It is quick simple and you will wonder why didn’t you think of it. Then stay tuned for a special card using our Stampin’ Up! framelit.

With Mother’s Day around the corner, I thought we need to start creating some cards that are perfect for the person who cares so much for you.  Does your mother love flowers or birds?  Today we will do a flower card using a Stampin’ Up! Framelit.

Tips

Stamp:  Crazy About You

Color Combination:  Wild Wasabi, Blushing Bride

I love the Wild Wasabi and Blushing Bride.  The Wild Wasabi is a rich color because it is not too pale or too deep then place with Blushing Bride to give the delicate look.  To me this is what spring a breathe of fresh air as we stumble out of the dreariness of winter.

Embellishment: Wink of Stella

Ink: Blushing Bride, Archival Black

Paper:  Blushing Bride, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White

Accessories: Floral Frames, Big Shot, Sponge Daubers

Special Note:  You are using all the layers of Floral Frames except for the largest  for the flower and alternate colors.  The green is the next to largest with part of the frame cut to make the leave. The third framelit is daubed with the Blushing Bride ink around the edge.

How to Truly Celebrate A Birthday!

DSC_0035 Bear BalloonsDSC_0037 Bear Hugs Inside

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for April 2016.  We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our new 2016 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month we are featuring projects that are all about our families. This is a great time of year to think about what to make for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, or upcoming graduations. And, family vacations are just around the corner… how would you want to remember those special family moments? We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.

Birthdays to me are a great time to celebrate with family.  We celebrate each birthday with the musical cake plate.  This started with my mother and I am keeping the tradition alive. Come celebrate with my birthday card.

Tips

Stamp Set:  Party with Cake, Balloon Celebration, Bear Hugs

Color Combination: Tangelo Twist, Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey

I chose to use some of the retiring colors for the balloons. This is my way of celebrating what colors may be leaving us.

Ink:  Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon, Tangelo Twist, Hello Honey, Archival Black, Chocolate Chip (bear)

Embellishment: Linen Thread

Paper: Tangelo Twist, Whisper White

Accessories: Bear Hugs Framelits, Party Pop-Up Thinlits

Note: If you bundle the Party Pop-Up Thinlits Dies with the Party with Cake you will save 15%% (#140814) and the same is true with Bear Hugs. Bundle the framelits and stamp set save 15% (#140823).

How She Did It:  For the inside of the card I slipped a 3″ piece of paper in the back of the pop up and colored with markers of same color as the balloons on front. This prevented color on the background.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.
