Teenager Birthday Cards

Do the you find it hard to create birthday cards for teenagers?  If yes, take a second look at Custom Tee stamp set and framelit.  This set can take you in so many directions.  It doesn’t have to be a for a teenager. It could be for any age or sex.  So consider this as a unisex set. Just perfect for your collection of stamps. I have the girl birthday card here and I will post the boy birthday card on my Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/stampinpinkrose/photos/a.835306279904546.1073741828.620259814742528/1029663007135538/?type=3&theater

What is nice about this design is that it can work with a wide variety of designer paper.  I pulled out some leftover paper and it have been scrap paper. It is always great to use up all the small pieces.  On this card I used the retired Birthday Party Designer paper. I loved this paper so much that I bought extra. This ia great time to look at the Stampin’ Up! Designer and  pick the ones you love.  In April the retirement list will come out and these items go fast. Right now you can get a FREE item with every $50 which expires March 31st.

Tips and Tricks

Stamp Set: This stamp comes with tons of pieces which allow many choices on your design.  The shirts come in two sizes and a tank top which is perfect for a sport top.  Then there is the piece to dress up love for a wedding. You can even put a collar on.  Best of all this comes in a bundle which you save 10% and makes it easy to cut.

  • Custom Tee

Custom Tee Photopolymer Bundle

Color:  For this card I used Melon Mambo which was listed on the paper pak. It so great that Stampin’ Up! list the colors on the Designer Series Paper.  It takes the guess work out.

Ink:  Melon Mambo, Archival Black

Paper: Just follow the colors on the package and use what ties to the paper.  I usually start with darkest color which in this case is the brightest. Then add the lightest color (yellow) and follow with your white.  Then all you need to do is decorate.

  • Melon Mambo
  • Daffodil Delight
  • Whisper White

Designer Series Paper: It’s My Party (retired), Subtle (dots in Tip Top Taupe)

Embellishment: Diminsionals

Accessories: Modern Label, Layering Circles, Big Shot, Trimmer

Mr. Strutter Is Almost Gone

The Hey, Chick is still strutting, but will soon be gone.  It is part of the free item in the Sale-a-Bration brochure with a $50 order.  Personnally, I think they are so cute. Of course, I may be partial because my kitchen is done in chickens. The background stamp has retired ….Ghoulish Grunge, but I do have a suggestion for you.  Use instead the *Hexagons embossing folder in the 2017 Occasions catalog.  Still need a catalog, email me at http://pamela@stampinpinkrose.com  click on the link on my blog page.  By doing this you will be on my list to get the new 2017-2018 Occasions Catalog coming out in June.

Remember this card can be used for any occasion.  You just change it up my using that special sentiment.

Tips and Tricks

Stamp Set: This stamp set has three adorable chicks and egg plus cute greetings. Check it out today!

  • Hey, Chick
  • Ghoulish Grunge (retired)*

Color: What colors make you think of the barnyard?  Cajun Craze or red with yellow and black to represent the chicken wire to keep those little guys in.

  • Cajun Craze
  • Archival Black
  • Daffodil Delight

Ink:  I used Blender Pens to color the chick.  You may want to get the ink refills.

  • Cajun Craze
  • Daffodil Delight
  • Archival Black

Challenge:  This is another challenge card.  I just love these because it get us thinking. Sometimes it is simple like todays and other times we need to think about. As you can tell by the picture, it is about the placement of the sentiment.  So think about the placement because sometimes it interferes with the image.  Here it is simply the look and it would work on any side of the circle.

Paper:  Once you have decided on your colors, then it is a matter of grabbing the coordinating card stock. I often choose to use the darkest on the bottom and the lightest next.  However, you need to keep in mind is your top sheet a color or white. When colored does it work with the color next to it or do you need a break between colors?

  • Cajun Craze
  • Daffodil Delight
  • Archival Black
  • Whisper White

Embellishment: Are you using an embellishment?  On this card I am using the Linen Thread because I want a twine that is subtle.

  • Linen Thread

Accessories:  Modern Label (retired),  Layering Circles, Blender Pens, Big Shot, Trimmer
