Spring in Here ….What is Blooming

I think is fitting with spring is here that we have new roses blooming.  Plus I am so thrilled over the exciting new colors that I used two of them in this beautiful rose. I know you are going to love these colors.

There are three more colors coming. You will need to stay tune as I show you more of the new colors and stamps.  Need a catalog? I will be sending them out the week of May 10th with a special gift.

By the way, this card was part of my Display Board for On Stage Minneapolis.  Here is a look at that board.

Tips and Tricks

Color Combination:  Well, you can’t have stems without a green color. the new color is called Tranquil Tide. I know you can have different colored roses, but my favorite is pink. Can’t you tell? So I used Berry Burst with shading of an old favorite Blushing Bride.

  • Tranquil Tide
  • Berry Burst
  • Blushing Bride

Are curious about the other great new colors?  They are coming!

Stamp Set: Stampin’ Up! came out with another beautiful rose which is more of a total rose.  Then they added a small rose perfect for small note cards and a background. This new stamp set is called Graceful Garden. The other stamp I used is Rose Wonder and it is not retiring.  I love the words on this stamp.

I know this picture doesn’t do justice on this stamp set. You will need to trust me that you will want to order it.

Rose Wonder Photopolymer Stamp Set

Ink:

  • Berry Burst
  • Tranquil Tide
  • Blushing Bride

Paper:  A little something old and little something new.

  • Blushing Bride
  • Berry Burst
  • Whisper White

Designer Series Paper:  I decided to use just a narrow strip of the new designer series paper.  You know you don’t always need to use a full piece of it.  Sometimes a peek will do.

  • Bundle of Love Specialty Designer Series Paper

This paper has beautiful pink and gold paper in its package.  I have a video coming up with some of the new papers this week.

Layout:  The layout for this card was  full on front because I wanted you to see the beautiful rose in all it’s glory.

Accessories:  Stampin’ Up! has some exciting new embossing folders and some returning such as Fluttering.

  • Fluttering
  • Big Shot
  • Trimmer

Using an embossing folder can replace using a background stamp.

Stay Tune For More To Come

I will have a video this week showcasing some of the new stamp sets and Designer Series Paper.  I know once you see a peak at the new items, you will want them. So why not jump on board.

Special Occasion Card

Here is another retirement stamp. We are losing Oh So Succulent stamp set and framelit.  I thought it was so sweet the flowers and would be a perfect Mother’s Day card.  This set has everything we need to make mother smile.   In fact this card would work for a birthday too.  Because it has the words Happy Mother’s Day words, I will probably not get rid of this stamp as of now I don’t have a replacement for it.

Adding a doily makes it even more sweet because it gives the effect of delicate look. To add interest, emboss your card stock with an embossing folder.  The Falling Petals Embossing Folder is retiring.  If you look close at it, it looks like hearts. What embossing folder will you miss?  I am always sorry to see some go away, but excited for the news.

Tips and Tricks

Colors:  I choose one of my favorite colors, the a soft pink called Blushing Bride with the Mint Macaron.  By the way that color will be leaving us.  Mint Macaron was one of my favorite colors because it was a great go to color. I thought of it as a neutral color because of using them for baby cards.

  • Blushing Bride
  • Mint Macaron

Stamp Set:  We always have great flower stamps to choose from. Some are small and others large.  It is great to have the variety like we have in our gardens.  The Swirly Bird makes a  perfect wreath. Can’t you picture it hanging on your door?

  • Archival Black

Paper: With high quality card stock from Stampin’ Up!, your receiver will know you care. There is a difference in card stock.

  • Blushing Bride
  • Mint Macaron
  • Whisper White

Embellishment:  I often think what would my card look like with the embellishment.  The answer is rather plain and would lack interest. So don’t forget the embellishment. No matter how small it is.

  • Delicate White Dollies
  • Gold Baker’s Twine -retired

Accessories: Big Shot, Falling Petals Embossing Folder, Trimmer

Don’t you love having a background on your cards?  However, sometimes you don’t have the right background or the right color.  Why not create your own background or have your children help you create that special card for grandma. It so simple to do with shaving cream and your reinkers. Yes, I said shaving cream.  Watch this video and let the fun begin.  Please leave me comments on the camera shot for this video. As I am making changes to how I shoot it.
