Do You Have A Favorite?

When I saw the new Stampin’ Up! Catalog there were you stamp sets I had to have.  So today you are seeing one of them…  Charming Duck Pond.  I have always enjoyed the ducks at the pond.  We have a pond at a cemetery with ducks that I enjoy watching.  In fact, on Thursday I took Abby and Noah to see them.  They could not stop talking about them. We were decorating the graves.

I noted some of the coloring next to the colors.  I will probably be using this for a birthday card.  You could put a banner across the top with a greeting if you wanted to.

Weekly Newsletter Week of May 27th

I am so excited I have all my new Stampin’ Up! colors.  It is so fun to have new colors.  I will be using them slowly because I have two new stamp sets I am particularly eager to use. So stay tuned to find which ones I want to use first.  Also, I received as a gift the Trusty Tool stamp set from my Upline Mary Fish for my 10th Anniversary with Stampin’ Up! Stampin’ Up! gave me credit for my 10th Anniversary so I chose the dies for the Trusty Tool set and some additional products.

Today I want to discuss in the newsletter some essential tools for stamping.  I have had some people ask me “What are the most valuable tools in stamping?” Obviously, paper snips, Bone Folder,  and paper trimmers are basic tools to get started.  Then the Blending Brushes bring color to life. I personally could not work with my Cut and Emboss Emboss Machine.  You may be asking about glue which is a personal choice. I love the Tom Bo Glue. However, you may like the Snail Adhesive. Some other great tools are Take a Pick and Stampin’ Up! Brayer.

Let us look at a quick easy technique.

For this card, we used the blade of our Paper Snips Scissors to scrape shavings off our Flirty Flamingo Soft Pastel onto scrap paper. We picked up the shavings with a Blending Brush and applied it evenly to our card base.

We love this technique because it allows us to add lots of less-saturated colors to our projects.

So watch for more cards using my new stamp sets.
