Take Flight

It is time to take flight with the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.  There are so many choices of wonderful new products including the Adventurous Sky stamp set.  On the top part of the card, I created the sky with the clouds.  I cut out the clouds and temporarily adhered to the Basic White cardstock.  Then I colored the cardstock with Balmy Blue using the Blend Brush.

Weekly Newsletter for Week of June 3

How many times have you explored the 2024-2025 Stampin’ Up! Catalog?  Each time I go through it, I know there is either a new product missed or an idea.  So today we are looking at creative challenges.

So grab your Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog and go to page 22 and check out the 20+ card templates on the bottom of the page. These super-helpful patterns can streamline your card-making process, so all you have to do is choose which fabulous new stamps, ink colors, Designer Series Paper, and embellishments you’ll use with them.

For today’s post we chose to feature two cards made using these templates. First up: the You’re Such a Blessing card with its showstopper focal point. We think it does a perfect job of highlighting the caring sentiment from the Grateful Blessing Stamp Set. To achieve this card’s sophisticated, distressed look, emboss Crumb Cake Cardstock using the Layered Floral 3D Embossing Folder and the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, then rub VersaMark ink over the embossed paper. Cut the circle for the sentiment using the Spotlight on Nature Dies to get those intricate and lovely border details. And those tasty-looking citrus fruits, plus their leaves and flowers? They were simply fussy cut from the Mediterranean Blooms Designer Series Paper. Cards come together so easily when you have a pattern to follow!

The Hey, You Can Do This card features another template with lots of fun layers—and it’s very easy to CASE. To get the look featured here, use the Saying Hey Stamp Set, the Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder, Country Lace, and Full of Life Designer Series Papers, Basics Wow! Embossing Powder (white), Blueberry Bushel, Coastal Cabana, Pool Party Cardstock, and Ombre Matte Decorative Dots. It’s a perfect mix of products, and with the template as your card-making guide—you can’t miss!

Favorites?

On Thursday I posted one of my favorites and today I am giving you my second favorite stamp set. They are tied for favorites.  It is the Country Birdhouse Bundle.  I love looking out my four-season room and watching the birds.  My birds seem to prefer my hanging baskets as opposed to the birdhouses. Right now all four hanging baskets on the porch have nests with 3 eggs in each.

I did a twist on this birdhouse. I emboss the body with an embossing folder.  I was digging through my basket and found Festive.  It is a retired embossing folder. Why not dig in your embossing folder and find one you like?  Just cut off the bottom part and reattach it to the card.

I would make one change to this card.  I would cut a second birdhouse body without the hole and put it behind the front birdhouse.
