Sometimes it is nice to have a specific card for Dad. Trusty Tools can provide you with just that. After all, he does so much. I thought the paintbrushes and the Country Woods Designer Series Paper perfectly combined to make a great birthday card.

I want to remind you there will be no Friday project on September 27th. I will be busy setting up for the 3-day event at the Iowa Fairgrounds in the Varied Industries Building. It is the largest craft show in Iowa. If you are in the area it is Friday 5 to 9, Saturday 9 to 5, and Sunday 10 to 4. Today I have a fun card for you to make.

Stamp:

Racing By

Ink:

Memento Black
Real Red

Paper:

Basic White 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ 1″ x 1″ 2″ x 2″
Smoky Slate 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″
Basic Black 1/”2 1/2″

Designer Series Paper:

Country Woods 3 3/4″ x 4 3/4″

Basic Tools:

Trimmer -152392
Multipurpose Liquid Glue – 110755

Instructions:

Fold Basic White CS at 4 1/4″.
Adhere the Smoky Slate to the front of the card.
Stamping the words “Racing by to say Happy Birthday” at a diagonal using Memento Black.
Cut the DSP at a slant.
Adhere the DSP to both corners of the card.
Stamp the Race Car in Memento Black and Real Red for the body on Basic White CS.
Stamp the man in the race car inside of the car on Basic White CS.
Stamp the flags in Memento Black. Fussy cut the images out.
Adhere the Race Car to the top of the card right above the words. (see photo)
Adhere the flags to two black strips of Basic Black CS.
Adhere to the bottom of the card. cross them.

CS= Cardstock

DSP= Designer Series Paper

Time for Hocus Pocus

September will soon be leaving us and October will be here. If October is here then Halloween is not far behind. I feel we never have enough Halloween cards. Potions and Spells give us a chance to create various Halloween cards. Today’s card is the first time I have used the cat. So let us do some Hocus Pocus.

This card went through some changes. Originally the “Happy Halloween” was on the side, but there was too much space at the top. So when I moved it there was a slight tear. So I covered it with the potion bottles. If I did this card again I would either shorten the green paper or add another stack of books.

For Halloween Designer Series Paper Stampin’ Up! gave us done. So I searched through the Designer Series Paper and found some in Zinnia DSP that would work.
